Trump Wields Cost-Cutting Scissors on US Mail as Mail-In Voting Expands
MAIL-IN VOTING by Steve Sack, politicalcartoons.com
The cartoon shows President Donald Trump using oversized scissors labeled cost cutting to shear feathers from a bald eagle representing the U.S. Mail. The eagle carries a mailbag marked mail-in voting and stands on a U.S. Mail pedestal. Feathers scatter on the ground as the bird looks back with concern. The image responds to debates in July 2020 over postal service funding and expanded mail-in voting for the November presidential election. Trump had publicly questioned mail voting and supported budget measures affecting the USPS.
