Supercommittee COLOR
SUPERCOMMITTEE COLOR by Bob Englehart, politicalcartoons.com
Englehart lampoons the Congressional Super Committee formed in 2011 to find $1.2 trillion in deficit savings, which collapsed spectacularly and triggered automatic sequestration cuts that would shape federal spending for years. The cartoon captures Washington's pattern of creating oversight bodies destined to fail.
